Family christmas was pretty much as usual with its ups and downs, plate throwing tantrums and family love in equal measures and lots of beer to wash it down with. But the best bit was the annual family $10 Christmas present swap thingo landing my sister with the best game ever. It’s called something like ‘Shocking Fun’ and the rules are something like this…

• Put your fingers on the button nearest to you
• when the light in front of you flashes, press your button
• If you miss pressing your button too many times,
• You are a loser and the game gives you an electric shock and then plays some canned laughter just to rub it in.

In a family situation, this game provides hours of fun. It even comes with ‘shock boosters’ which are metal finger covers to enhance the shocking fun if family members have pacemakers or seem to have already developed a tolerance for electric shocks.
